Breckenridge Rewind

Breckenridge Rewind is a labor of love.
In the 1970s, ’80s, and ’90s, Lee Lucas captured the moments big and small all around Breckenridge. From the slopes to Ullrfest, pub crawls to bike races, Lucas and his cameras were there for everything. Lucas generously donated many of his films to Breckenridge History, where they are now housed in the Lee Lucas Collection. The original films were rescued after a hurricane by Robin and Patty Theobald and brought to the archives where they were digitized, processed, and preserved for future researchers.
This summer, Breck Film has worked to take moments from these films and create a one-hour feature compilation. The film was originally shown at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center during BIFA, and is now ready for your viewing pleasure right here! The film’s introduction and talkback featuring CJ Mueller and Lee Lucas are also available here. Thank you to all who contributed to this effort and who starred in this film!
If your personal story ties to the history of Breckenridge, please consider donating your own collection to the Breckenridge History Archives! To donate artifacts, photographs, maps, family papers or other archival material, please email Archives and Collections Manager Kris Ann Knish at archives@breckhistory.org or call 970-453-9767 ext. 6. And if you have enjoyed watching the film, please consider a financial donation to help preserve our history. Thank you!
This video will make its online debut at 12:01 am on Saturday, Aug. 23! In the meantime, you can watch the introduction by CJ Mueller below.
